Energy Environmental and Engineering Economics

Energy systems include energy markets and prices, government policies and international convention such as climate change convention, and new technologies and new industries looking for a better solution to meet the goal of ‘sustainable development.’ Energy, Environmental, and Engineering Economics center (enecon center) was established in 1987 to enhance researches in energy issues in conjunction with methodologies in economics and management science. Main research areas are: Analysis of energy markets and industries, international energy policies, valuation of environmental good and new technologies, and economic evaluation of engineering projects. Recent research topics include: Optimal energy cloud platform design, Impact of US shale gas production on Asian natural gas markets, Role of inventory on market speculation, Optimal renewable portfolio, Asymmetrical behaviors of energy prices, and Economic valuation of CO2-reduction technologies.
